The kid’s fitness camps are designed for kids who have completed first through sixth grade. The program lays stress on nutrition and physical activity choices and less on weight control or developing a particular body size or shape. The kids fitness Camp schedule is generally of about three hours duration, and the kid can attend 5 days in a row. Most kid fitness camp programs include jump starts, fitness challenge with the aid of DVDs, health activities, field trips and small eats.

It is indeed a fact that children nowadays play less and spend more time sitting before television or playing video games. This total inactivity is the result of advances in entertainment technology. Present day kids surf the web, watch TV, or play video games while people of our generation did not have such outlets for entertainment. Indolent children can develop health problems at a later date and that is the reason why it is critically important for children to attend fitness camps.

Though it is a child’s nature to be active, run around and indulge in fun, today they may need motivation to even do these things.

There are several machines in kid’s fitness camps and each machine is specially designed to help the child to reach certain fitness level in a fast and safe manner. When operating these machines, the child will never be challenged with resistance its current level of strength. Kid’s fitness camps are designed to build the child’s self esteem, love of physical activity and playing skills. Kids will enjoy receiving training and guidance from experienced professional coaches, teachers and counselors.

Once the kid’s interest is aroused, it will look forward to heading off to camp every year and a great variety of specialty kid fitness camps are today available.

It is natural for parents to want their children’s fitness camp experience to be fun-filled and purposeful, offering not only instruction and assistance with improvement in physical activities, but also opportunities for positive social interaction with other kids. Kid fitness camps are becoming more popular than ever as they offer kids opportunities to hone their skills in their favorite activity.

It needs to be mentioned that almost all fitness camps are seriously addressing the concerns about the kids eating the right foods. At kid’s fitness camp, thoughtful menu planning-along with physical exercise-is helping to avert weight gain among children. Organizers of fitness camps are aware that in today’s society, importance must be attached to childhood obesity and eating disorders. A fitness camp experience can provide the structure and activity needed to keep kids healthy year-round.

Most fitness camps arrange the kids to move on to a hour of games and physical activities after the learning process in the camp gets over. Circle Chat, to promote social interaction, is invariably the final 30 minutes of the camp. The kids can ask questions, share stories or thoughts about their experience with exercise, food and diet. In a nutshell, kids’ fitness camp is meant to be a place where physical activity and nutrition are both promoted in a healthy, fun-filled, enjoyable and non-competitive environment.

Fitness for Kids – It is All About Movement!

Article by Terra Hawks

We see so much in the media about obesity in children. Kids today are heavier than ever and it is time we do something about it. It isn’t hard to show kids the fun of getting up and moving. But we need to make it a priority before it is too late. Years ago you rarely saw an overweight child, but then childhood was different years ago. Children would head outside first thing in the morning and parents wouldn’t see them again until late at night. Parents weren’t being irresponsible, that was how life was. There wasn’t fear of kidnapping, accidents, etc., that we face today. Parents now are afraid to let their kids go outside alone and with parents working longer hours there isn’t much time for supervised outdoor play. As a result many kids spend their afterschool time sitting in front of the television. But how can you teach kids to make exercise a part of their lives?Set the example. If your kids see you making exercise a priority, they will soon see the importance. For an example, I work with a woman whose entire family was slightly overweight. She decided to take up jogging. At first it was just her, then slowly her husband started riding his bike, after a while the teenage kids followed. Now a few years later the entire family is a picture of fitness. She didn’t force anyone to exercise, she just set the example. It is time to make fitness a family activity. When you play together you are building stronger family bonds and making great memories. Toss a football around the yard or put a basketball hoop up and play horse. Make exercise part of family vacations – fly kites on the beach or race to the pier. Rent bikes and explore the town you are visiting. One of the easiest ways to encourage childhood fitness is to get out and walk with your kids. If you start young you will be making fitness a part of their lives. By using a jogger stroller you can take your smallest child with your. If you have twins or two toddlers they make great double jogger strollers too.If you make fitness a part of your childrens life from the beginning, they will have less chance of becoming obese. Help your kids have a healthy start, show them how to stay fit!
